Orange Wine Week

The final weekend of Orange Wine Week was absolutely stunning and jam packed with a wide range of wine related events. Friday night stayed dry for the Night Markets (thank goodness) held in Robertsons Park in the centre of Orange. Hundreds of locals and tourists turned up to try the wide range of wines from the Orange region accompanied by locally sourced and utterly delicious dishes.

Both Saturday and Sunday were filled with blue skies, warm weather, lush green fields and vines with their first buds – totally beautiful. The Patina Wines Cellar Door was extremely busy with visitors sampling our cheese and wine matches throughout the day.

One of the favourite cheeses of the weekend was most definitely the Swiss raclette style gruyere which was served warm and gooey.

If you didn’t get the chance to make it along to any of our events, fear not, as we are holding our Spring Garden @ Patina event in two weeks time – join us!

Waffles with the Wine Maker 2012

Our waffles with the wine maker went down a treat last Sunday, as part of our Wine Week celebrations.

Winemaker Gerald Naef handles the tasting table
We ended up with forty people seated throughout the house and garden hungry and ready for waffles.

So delicious - everyone wanted seconds!
After a scorcher of a day on Saturday, everything turned a bit overcast for Waffles with the Winemaker, but the wet weather just gave us an excuse to light the fires and let everyone cuddle closer together!

Beautiful flowers
We had a great morning and loved passing on our waffle tradition to our visitors. Hope you can make it to waffles next time.
